Dublin University 20 - Stillorgan 10
The first league game got off to a slow start with the students racking up a win against the visiting Stillorgan side. For the record the captain won the toss and decided to play against the elements in the first half. Trinity took full advantage and with a well drilled pack they had the upper hand for much of the first half. Down 15 -0 at half time a much improved Stillorgan came out and dominated much of the second half and quickly narrowed the Trinity lead with a penalty after good work by the forwards. Stillorgan continued to pressurise and were rewarded with a try resulting from a well choreographed move and twinkle toes Hops ran in from 20 yards (ish). This was converted by Alan. Unfortunately time ran out for Stillorgan as they continued to search for the winning score. Trinity broke away in the dying seconds for a try which sealed their win.
