Winters Cup: Lansdowne

STUNNING WIN FOR STILLORGAN IN J4 CUP

The venue was Bird Avenue,the opposition was Lansdowne. The result a 14-10 home win . Yet again against a more fancied Lansdowne team,the Stillorgan boys played a tremendous in your face style of rugby to advance to the next round of the cup.

Both teams started well with Lansdowne pushing hard to dominate the game but resolute defence by Stillorgan ensured that all gaps were closed. Stillorgan opened the scoring with a penalty by Lansowne responded with a well taken try. Stillorgan raised the ante and good work by the Niallo after fine work by the pack but forwards had us camped in the opposition a scrum found lightening fast number eight Jerri in space. Having drawn the Lansdowne 22. A quick pick up from tacklers, he fed to that talented scrum half who quickly and wisely popped the ball to the Bull who from 10 yards wasnt going to be stopped.
