Due to injuries and other player commitments, Stillorgan 2nds were unable to field a full team, and accepted 2 player from the opposition to allow the go ahead of the game. Bective started very strongly and for the first 30 minutes wore Stillorgan down with two penalties and 3 converted tries.... For the last 10 minutes of the half, Stillorgan gave as good as they got, and this pressure culminated with a finely work try in the corner scored by Ingo in the 33rd minute. Half time score was SRFC 5 - Bective Rangers 27.
Stillorgan started the second half as they ended the first half, and spent the first ten minutes in the opposition 22; but could not breach a very strong defense. Bective made a few tries against the run of play, and with their heads up and the smell of victory in their nostrils, started to turn the screw, and notched up some more tries to finish the game off.
