Despite some good play and pressure from SRFC it wasn't to be our day and were comprehensively beaten by a very good Terenure side. The scoreline doesn't reflect the possession, pressure and effort from everyone who played yesterday and we were very unlucky not to score a try on a number of occasions. With a number of people missing from the key positions with injuries etc, the team gallantly pulled together a brave display with some people playing out of position.
Stillorgan were hit hard early on with 3 trys in the first 20 mins and played some of their best rugby in the final 15 mins of the first half with Ger Hensey coming closest to scoring before being dragged into touch inches from the try line. Stillorgan again started the second half slowly and were caught again with 2 more tries with Terenure moving their backs well. But SRFC rallied with some great pick and go from the forwards and with some good back movement in the backs Ger was again to come close. John Casserly got held up over line with some good driving from the forwards but Terenure were not to be breached and scored their sixth and final try in the final 10 mins.
