Dundalk 0 - Stillorgan 31

J3 League - Jan 16, 2005

Stillorgan continued their rich vein of form with an impressive away win against Dundalk. A lot of good facets to this win including a very competitive lineout and maul. The first half started with Stillorgan on the front foot launching numerous attacks. Finally awarded with a penalty concerted by Paul "Ballerina feet" Fadden. More pressure ensued which led to Danny stealing a ball from a Dundalk scrum and creashing over for his first Stillorgan try. This was converted by Ballerina feet. Captain Hops retired with an injury and was replaced by Leo. Leo first contribution was to break in the line with a searing run. You could say he ran like his ass was on fire. Unfortunately the move broke down. The second try came from the backs as Gareth spotted a gap and touched over for a try ably converted by Balerina feet. With Stillorgan now in rampant form, a break by Ken (who ran straight all day!) fed the ball to Patrick who touched down under the posts. Converted by Ballerina feet.

Halftime Dundalk 0 Stillorgan 24.

A good half time talk by Fabien "I'm not comfortable" Rolland inspired the troops. Dundalk resumed taking the game to Stillorgan but the visitors stood up strong and no tries were conceded. The tackling and support play was impressive. When Stillorgan eventually lifted the siege Garrett made a half break and fed Rossy on the half way line and this speed merchant needs no second asking as he classically outpaced the opposition and his team mates to touch down for a breath taking try to seal the victory. Ballerina feet converted.

Too many good performances all around the pitch but Peter and Dave Keegan showed up well. This was an excellent display by the team with everyone including the subs contributing to the win. With the win under the belt Stillorgan retired to the bar to get ready for the bus trip home. Entertainment on the bus was supplied by Dave K who led the singsong and by Fabien "I'm not confortable"Rolland who regaled us with his insiteful observations of his team mates!! Thanks to everyone who contributed to a great day and especially to our three supporters, Mark, Fergus and the Chairman and of course to Company Occasions (Director is Ronan McCabe) who sponsored the player's match fee and win bonus!!!
